Volunteer Opportunities

Marketing Volunteer

Are you an art enthusiast with a talent in social and community outreach?

We are looking for a creative fund developer that can help us monitor and raise funds to take SEITIES STUDIO to the next level. We may split this position in two. One volunteer would focus on social media and the other community outreach. Please indicate your interest in one or both in your application.

 

Expectations:

  • *A knowledge of historic and contemporary art, artist-run , non-profit culture
  • *Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong copy-edit skills; adept with Mac OS X, social media management platforms( Mail Chimp, Instagram, Facebook) , Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office
  • *Strong organizational skills and a keen attention to detail; excellent interpersonal skills; ability to be self-directed while working in a team environment; and a passion and ongoing involvement in their arts community.
  • *The willingness to work evenings and weekends is required
  • *Collaborate with sponsors, work closely with the Managing Director and Executive Director.
  • Time: 4 to 8 hours a week. Some evening and weekend work may be required. This pilot position is an opportunity for the right individual to learn and grow their skill set, with increased hours pending appropriate funding.

 

Responsibilities:

  • *Manage communications with community members, partners, and media regarding all organizational activities.
  • *Contribute to the design, editing, production, and distribution of all outreach and communications material.
  • *Assist in identifying and developing partnerships with other organizations for collaborative programming.
  • *Act as a liaison between SEITIES STUDIO the media, local cultural groups and stakeholders in support of our activities, representing SEITIES in a courteous and professional manner.
  • *Coordinate and implement promotional strategies to ensure consistent brand and character as developed
  • *Maintain and update organization’s website and online content on an ongoing basis.
  • *Define and manage organizational editorial calendar, including but not limited to email communication, social media, and printed matter.
  • *Work collaboratively with community partners to develop outreach programming.
  • *Participate in fundraising preparations and events as needed.
  • *Attend monthly Board and Committee meetings as needed.
  • *Develop exposure in local, nationally and international communities.

Fund Developer Volunteer

Are you an art enthusiast with a talent in fund raising?

We are looking for a creative fund developer that can help us monitor and raise funds to take SEITIES to the next level. We may split this position in two. One volunteer would handle grants and another sponsorships. If you can do both, even better!!

Expectations:

  • Help organize and run fund raising events
  • Develop relationships with donors and collect in-kind donations
  • Seek out and write grant proposals (board approved)
  • Develop relationships with grant providers (Canada Council, Heritage, CADA, AFA etc.)
  • Develop and implement sponsorship programs
  • Collaborate with sponsors
  • Work closely with the Managing Director and Executive Director
  • 5 to 10 hours a week

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Understanding of grant writing, art funding organizations, non-profit structures, and sponsorship programs.
  • Passionate about our mandate and vision.
  • Able to seek out and find funding opportunities and work creatively to engage new sponsors.
  • Must be extremely comfortable with meeting new people, a real “go-getter”.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Experience with some grant writing would be an asset.

This position will start as a volunteer position but has the potential to move to a paid position depending on success of fundraising and board approval.
